Today DG had to match pictures by the same artist. When asked why he grouped these four together, he said, "Because they were all 'cracky'". I wish my kids came up with the English language. It would be so much more fun!!!!!
WHAT? You have a blog now??? WOOHOO!!!! I'm adding you to my list!
Ok. Every THIRD night I do a load of diapers after the kids have gone to bed. I put them in the dryer before I go to bed and they are all ready for the next morning. It doesn't take any time at all! :)
By the way, in about 3 weeks (when I start working part time) could I come over for a little part of a school day? I want to see how it works :) Plus I want to see you guys!
How many diapers do you need? And what do you do as far as cleaning them when you are not at home and they are dirty?
We would love to have you join us for school. We are starting somewhere between 8&8:30 and it is taking about 45 minutes. Mon-Wens is best. Blake teaches on Thursday as I am working. Let me know when you want to come and we will work around your schedule.
I think with a kid Peter's age you could get by with 2 dozen prefolds and like 4 covers, especially if you were only doing cloth part time (like still doing disposable at night - I did that for a while.) When I go out, I take a plastic bag and just keep the diapers in there until I get home. - even if it's all day, like when I'm working. Then I have a big waterproof bag I keep them in at home until wash day. Really, it's NO problem. I was spending about $40-$50/month on disposables (is that about right, I can't remember. I used pampers). She's 17 months old, so that would have been around $850. I've probably spent around $250 total on cloth, and I bought some really expensive stuff at the beginning that I wouldn't buy again. I like the prefolds/fitteds with covers best. Just tell me when, I'll bring a bunch of stuff over and give you a demonstration :)
You don't even want to know how many diapers we have. You know I just got 18 more in a trade. How much does Peter weigh? We might have some extra prefolds that would fit him if you would like to try them out.
Actually, come to think of it, I've gotten a total of 28 diapers from trades - with the 18 fitted diapers I just got I made the lady's daughter a wool skirt, and with the other 10 I made her (different mama's) daughter a small baby quilt. Gotta use my gifts and talents to acquire diapers!! :)
Plus my friend gave me my big waterproof bag that I use to store the used diapers in until wash day.
