Milestones

KJ is one week old today. She is a beautiful baby but I am biased. She does have her days and nights a bit backwards and she is a little yellow. But this first week has been wonderful. PG wakes up each morning, runs in our room and says, "It's morning." Then he wants to kiss his sister and reminds us he is a "big brother".

RA wants to hold her all day long. She will even change her diapers. She will get me anything as long as it is for KJ.

And sometimes I find DG just staring at her.

It is amazing what new babies do for families. They remind us (or at least me and my kids) what family is all about and how when you strip it all down, you would do anything for your family. Thank you God for our little blessing!

Big sister is a big help. Praise God. However, sometimes I think I might have to pry KJ out of her arms.

KJ was born at 3:43 on March 11th. She weighed 7.3 lbs and is 19.5 inches. Her brothers and sister are very glad she is here. We will be going home tomorrow.

New Update

Well, I am full term!!!! So if she decides to come now all is well. Based on all the issues if she doesn't come in the next two weeks they will induce. We are all doing ok. Thanks for all the prayers.

I am going to my 36 week appointment in a couple of hours. I will post more later.

Well my cervix is the same but she did drop a little. Everything else looks good. Next Thursday I will be full term. My dr. gave me some thing to help me sleep better. I hope we can get control of these contractions or at least sleep through them.

Hope

What has Lent taught me so far? There seems to be a theme running through it for me... hope! God uses all things for good and I think for me it was not some accident that my grandmother past away at the beginning of Lent. I have been praying daily Divine Mercy chaplets for the repose of her soul. I have been praying evening prayer after the kid(s) go to bed each night. I have been reading St. Louis de Monfort's Friends of the Cross. And the theme through them all is hope. And it is not some human desire for something good to happen -- it is more than that. I love what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says paragraph 1821: "We can therefore hope in the glory of heaven promised by God to those who love him and do his will. In every circumstance, each one of us should hope, with the grace of God, to persevere "to the end" and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God's eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ. In hope, the Church prays for "all men to be saved." She longs to be united with Christ, her Bridegroom, in the glory of heaven."
On a personal note, I saw my papa (grandpa) today for the first time in about five years. He has come to CO indefinitely to stay with my parents. I am thrilled and feel completely blessed to have him here. God is so good, I am surrounded by the people I love, living in a beautiful place, and awaiting the birth of another gift from God as I contemplate the love of God in His plan of salvation for us. I hope your Lent leads you to the great peace He is giving me.
