Activity
I realized that I haven't been doing enough physical fitness with the kids. So I decided today to do some streching, crunches, an attempt at pushups, jumping jacks, running in place and a small cool down. All the kids joined me. PG was a hoot. At the end, they all wanted water. At which point, RG said, "I'm a little tired but that was good" and DG said, "I think I broke something." while holding his shoulder. Sheesh!

Gearing up for Lent
There ought to be a liturgical season to prepare us to prepare. I know as a mother I am making my list. Our sacrafice jar was so successful for Advent, I think we will use it for Lent. DG has already said he thinks he should give up computer games (this was self determined and I am so proud of him). I ordered some station of the cross prints to put up in the school room. Hmmm... what else? I think I will check my resources. Let me know what you all are doing?

A School post...
that is why I started this blog. DG started a journal this week and I just love it. It is so he can work on handwriting in a more concrete way and so he can start to get ideas down on paper. Check out the ideas on http://www.letteroftheweek.com/primary_journal_ideas.html
We started with January 1st so he has only written names at this point, but we are all pretty excited.

RA and reading
Today, RA was reading a story. She read "Matt can play." She looked up at me and said, "Of course he can play, everyone can play." Then she went back to reading. I nearly fell of my chair. She said it as if she had just read the most ludicrous thing ever. Oh my kids are so funny!

Something to consider
When I was in high school, one of my friends was one of three boys in his house. They were active boys. His mom use to keep Emergency room admission forms by her back door so she could grab one on the way to the hospital after one of her children's many "accidents".
Today while at his Nana's house (not her fault, he could have easily done it at mine as well), the two year old rode his toy tractor down the stairs and hit his head on the wall. He is fine. Didn't even really cry. But I am seeing some trips to the ER in my future.

Finally we played in the snow
Ok I didn't but the "big" kids and Daddy did. This morning when we left for the Mass the neighbor kids were coming out to play. When we got home, we saw they had built a snow fort. It was pretty cool. So my kids decided to build a snowman, but were distressed about what to use for its facial features. So we used a twizzler for the mouth, a baby carrot for the nose, and two lids from empty spice bottles I had to remind me to replace them. The eyes are cool cause they look like those flip up sun glasses.
Oh and lest anyone worry about my deprived children they did get to go sledding yesterday.
